Fat, Lazy and Stupid
I don't have much to say today. I read an article that said 30.6% of the adult population in Mississippi is obese. That's the least of our problems. 17.7% of Mississippians live in poverty. 17.1% have no health insurance.
Obesity, lack of health care and poverty are not the roots of our problems. They are just the symptoms. Lack of education is the culprit. 30% of the adult population in Mississippi is Level 1 (completely or functionally) illiterate. 52% of the adult population in the county where I grew up is Level 1 illiterate.
That's depressing. No jokes today. Maybe tomorrow.
