I need a new drug
My day, once again, centered around my rotten sinuses. I got up intending to work half a day and then go to the allergy doctor but I felt like death warmed over. Right before I went to the doctor, I looked on the internet to see what procedure they would likely use. What I found was information stating that due to a certain prescription medication I am taking, I should not have allergy skin test done. I called my primary care physician and my ENT to ask their input, but they were a little late calling me back so I went to the allergy doctor anyway. The ENT called while I was on the road and said they wouldn't recommend doing the skin tests. I got to the allergy doctor and they said it would be okay to do it anyway. Since I have veto power, I said no. I didn't want to take the chance of anaphylaxis to determine something today that I've been allergic to for 25 years. I rescheduled for next week.
You have no idea how many things I write and never post here. I write a lot about atheism versus religion, creationism versus evolution, ridiculous government policy, the insanity of our society's values, global warming, wildlife protection...the list is pretty long. I generally don't post it because it takes so long to support a position. I've found that people only want to read one page at most. By one page I mean an 8 1/2" x 11" page. Some things they don't want to read at all. But, interestingly enough, people seem to prefer to read regurgitated celebrity news over and over. This is obvious by the blogs and forums every ISP offers on their home page. There is enough of that out there so I won't be doing it.
I have a rather small readership. Most of my best friends don't know about this blog. Virtually every reader just "happens" by. You may have noticed that I often use song titles or some current topic as entry titles. When I do, the number of hits on the site increase, but most people just keep going. I ping Technorati often, but I can't tell you that it increases the number of hits. Google usually is the top referrer. The number of people that leave comments or send email is virtually non-existent. Although, a number of articles get printed out. Go figure!
So...with all that said, I think I'll go blow my nose.
