Today's Find
Today I was loading some gravel to put on a ditch bank and something in one shovelful of rocks caught my eye...
It looked like some kind of fossil.
It had an interesting pattern.
Then I turned it over...
A very nice little coral fossil.
Actually, it is fairly large considering it came out of some #3 gravel.
You can only find fossils if you keep your eyes open. So keep looking!

I really wonder whether it is a fossil. It looks much like a piece of pottery. In my view he should get it checked by the concerned authorities. It has got a lot of designs and I have the feeling that these are man made. Anyway it is really beautiful. I really appreciate his curiosity and his keen sense of observation. In fact he has rightly pointed out the need for us to keep our eyes open to see and appreciate the beauty of things around us.
